5:30 am Truck Stop welcomed the Pax to F3 – Fitness, Fellowship and Faith – reminding them of the mission to Plant, Serve and Grow small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership. We are growing, new sites in Omaha, new FNGs everyday, and we are an International Organization now.
Truck Stop then covered the 5 core principles of F3. 1) Open to ALL men. 2. Always Free. 3) Always held outdoors, 4) Lead in a rotating fashion and 5) Ends with a Circle of Trust (COT).
We had 1 FNG – Sunshine.
Credo: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him.
Truck Stop reminded the PAX that I am not a professional. Modify as necessary. Workouts are all a suggestion. From this point forward there is a real risk of injury. Truck Stop informed the group we would mosey.
5:33 am Warm-a-rama
We ran a lap around the track and then circled up at the 50 yard line
- 25 Side straddle hops IC
- 15 Tappy Taps
- 15 Cherry pickers IC
5:40 am The Thang – 52 Deck of Cards (modified)
We ran over onto the out to the track where Truck Stop instructed that there are 4 stations, each with a list of suited card names. Each suit represents a different exercise. Spades are Burpees, Clubs are Air Squats, Hearts are Big Boys and Diamonds are Merkins. The number of the card is the number of reps for each exercise. The group counted off by fours and reported to their assigned station. PAX was instructed to complete their station work out fully together as a PAX and then mosey to the next station. Repeat until OMAHA.
We would meet back in the parking lot for 6MOM.
6:05 am 6MOM
We would end with 23 Sarpy Slammers IC.
The Name-a-rama was completed – see above for list of those who posted.
- TRI- City Pantry Food Drive
- Blood Drive on 17th
- Nelly’s and his family
Like being a dealt a hand with a deck of cards, many of us and our community members have different privileges, experiences, relationships and fortune. The hand we are dealt is part of who we are, but it doesn’t have to define us. Our ability to stay focused, be resilient in the face of our own unique challenges is the game of life we’re all playing.
As Jimmy V’s told us…Don’t give up, don’t ever give up
F3 has helped me stay resilient and focus on my mental, physical and spiritual health the past 3 months. I want to thank Skidz for opening the door this group of HIM. Thanks, my man.
Each of us has the power to win this game of life, but also the power to help others be resilient and win their challenges. Your words, support, your ear, your care can help those in need to be more resilient, help then tackle the challenge of life.
I encourage you reach out to two people today, one you know well and one you don’t know quite so well. How can you help them conquer a challenge, be resilient or put a smile on the face?
Swiper led the group out in prayer.
Aye! Truck Stop
