YHC welcomed the PAX (including 1 FNG!) to the gloom for my last Q before departing for Kearney. F3 mission, core principles, and disclaimer were announced.

Next, PAX moseyed to the tennis courts for:

The Pre-Thang (guest Q’d by Crab Cakes)

We started on one side with Failure to Launch, broad-jumped across both courts, did Failure to Launch again, and broad-jumped back across.

PAX then moseyed over to a tree near the utility shed for:

The Thang

PAX split into 2 groups. Group# 1 ran to a tree on the west side of the park for Station 1. This was the push. Once done with the first exercise on the list, the group ran back to the tree by the utility shed for Station 2. Group #2 completed the first exercise as AMRAP until relieved. The groups flapjacked through the list until Omaha was called.

Announcements and Prayer Requests were asked.

Circle of Trust

As I reflect on my time in F3 Omaha better moving to Kearney, a few thoughts came to mind.

First, it’s an honor to be an F3 Omaha Redwood. But being a Redwood doesn’t bring any more honor than those who came later, and have helped advance the mission F3 in awesome ways. Tater Tot, Folsom, Crab Cakes, Gipper, Huffy, Wentworth, Gunner, Othello…I could make a list of a 100 HIMs right here. If you’ve been active in F3, you’ve made an impact.

Second, there are a couple of memories that stick out. First, the 1776 in 2019. I distinctly remember Khakis (Respect!) literally crawling on his hands and knees at the end just to finish. This exemplifies the drive and determination I’ve seen so many times in F3 of men wanting to be better. Next, I remember meeting Doppler and U-Haul for the first time…not at a workout, but to help Grease Fire’s sister move some stuff. F3 Omaha is not just about working out together, but about serving each other and our community. Meeting new HIMs while serving exemplifies all 3 Fs, not just the first F.

My last thought is that I learned how good it is to share what is going on in your life to brothers who care. Wait Time shared his job loss, Rollbar shared the struggles of his daughter being diagnosed with Type I diabetes. Both times, F3 Omaha rallied around them for support. I experienced the same when one Saturday, I announced my M and I were expecting our third child. And the following Thursday, I announced my mom was dying. You are Freed to Share, both the good and the bad, and doing so, you experience the community of F3.

I challenge you to share something with the PAX next time you post. Start with something good. It’ll make it easier when you need to share something bad, and need the support of the HIMs around you.

I’ll see you in the gloom,

Lemon Law
