Lined PAX up at the end of the field. Everybody layed down on their bellies in the grass.

Q said “Sprint”, “Mario”, “Bear Crawl”, or “Bernie” and then everybody did that thing until Q said “Down” and everybody was back on their belly. First person to the other side was next Omaha beach q.
The Thang
Four stations were placed around the building so as to provoke more moseying. Break guys into 4 groups.

Station #1: Bear Crawl Inch Warm [from one end of basketball court to other] (Push)
(This station took too long, so I made an audible and placed the cones outside of the fenced area and told PAX to nix the inch worm.

PAX would then move from station to station and they did the exercises in order for as many reps as they felt like, because the QIC underestimated the circuit time. A miscalculation he now regrets.
Station #2: Legs
Sumo Squats
Squat jumps
Hydraulic Squats
Copperhead Squats
Station #3: Arms

“We have never preached violence, except the violence of love, which left Christ nailed to a cross, the violence that we must each do to ourselves to overcome our selfishness and such cruel inequalities among us. The violence we preach is not the violence of the sword, the violence of hatred. It is the violence of love, of brotherhood, the violence that wills to beat weapons into sickles for work.”
― Oscar A. Romero, The Violence of Love

Scripture says “As iron sharpens iron, so does one man sharpen another”. This quote stuck out to me last night because I think it perfectly encapsulates the truths I have found in this brotherhood. Sharpening another man is a violent act. It’s also an act of love. The etymological root of violence is “to violate”. And when we push each other in the gloom outside of our comfort zones, we are violating the comfort and the apathy which lies within each man. It should be our goal in this band of brothers to always do so in love. We’re not preparing violence in order to reap more violence, but to reap more love.
