“Celebrate the Moments”
of PAX: 11
PAX: Swiper, Girldad, Ferdinand, TonyTheTiger
PAX: Escobar, Skidz, Truck Stop, Haggis, Squeaky Clean, KOA, Eartag, Diddy, Girldad, Borat, Animal House
Skidz welcomed the Pax promptly at 530am to F3– reminding them of the mission to Plant, Grow and Serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.
Skidz went on to cover the 5 core principles of F3.
1) Open to ALL men.
2) Always Free.
3) Always held outdoors.
4) Led in a rotating fashion.
5) Ends with a Circle of Trust (COT).
Skidz then forgot to explain that he is most definitely not an expert, formal instructor, or even a runner of any sorts. But hey, we runnin’.
Warm-o-rama: This was skipped and we hit the trailhead.
Skidz instructed the PAX that we would run the Papio trail down to 96th street, up to Lincoln road, and back over the walking bridge. Essentially the Squeaky Clean circuit from last month. Skidz instructed the fast runners that at every mile they need to double back to the 6 where we would do certain ‘celebrate’ exercises.
Mile 1: 7s. 7 Burpees and 7 Bonnie Blairs
Mile 2: 14s. 14 Side Straddle Hops and 14 Air Squats
Mile 3: 22s. 22 Merkins and 22 Carolina Dry Docks
Walking Bridge: Walking Lunges in Line across the bridge.
We arrived back at the shovel flags and OMAHA was called by Skidz at 6:15am.
Mary: This also didn’t happen due to time constraints.
• Schrute’s Grandma
• Squeaky’s relative with Covid
• Nugent and Kaipust Families
• Get out and support Light the Night, Project Pink’d, and Nugent Celebration of Life
COT: The exercises we did represent some sort of personal celebration of mine. 22s represent 22 years since I was told I was in remission of Lymphoma. 14 represents the years of marriage I’ve had with my M– Leah. 7 represents the number of years since my M’s mother battled breast cancer and was cured (as well as 007, Bond is back with the movie dropping today!). And the walking bridge represents the deliberate walk or mindset I feel I have to have most days to keep any ‘future cancer anxiety’ at bay. Many survivors of diseases, violence, etc live with anxieties and work to keep them ‘in check’ and try not to affect those around us we love and I’m no different.
Always make time to celebrate. Make those memories. Those are the things you will cherish as well as your families and friends down the road. I wore the Joggin’ for Jo shirt to celebrate my M’s 7 years of remission.
We closed in prayer shortly after 6:15.
