Swanson Elementary, 47 degrees and calm, a perfect morning for a beatdown

Welcomed PAX to F3.

Went over Mission Statement, 5 Core Principles, Credo and since we were not working with wire and conduit had to disclose that I wasn’t a professional and to proceed at your own risk.

We then moseyed the entire south jogging loop to make sure our hearts were ready.

Warm-o-rama:

15 SSH IC

10 Tappy Taps IC

10 Big Ones IC with emphasis on the third count for a long stretch

10 Sun Gods forward & back IC

10 Imperial Walkers IC

15 Toy Soldiers IC

10 Huffy 10 Speeds IC

Pre-Thang:

Partnered up in pairs.

While 1 PAX Bernie Sanders’d up the hill to do 10 Ranger Merkins, the other PAX AMRAP’d Bonnie Blairs.  When PAX 1 returned it was vice versa.

This was done until Omaha was called.

The Thang:

Rochamburpee time!

we then played rochambo while in chillcut position with our partner. winner got to do a merkin while the loser had to perform a burpee.  There were 10 rounds of this.  Each round added one burpee and one merkin.

This created a lot of mumblechatter with the PAX.  I may have heard Golden Pike say ‘I love you, Edison.”  Although I’m not sure what he said exactly, it definitely ended in “…you, Edison.’  This meant he was enjoying the exercise!

The Other Thang:

We then moved to the “pitch” as some call it.  I know it as a soccer field.

There we lined up and did a Black Jack exercise.

1 merkin – run to other end of field then perform 20 LBCs

run back – do 2 merkins – run  – 19 LBCs.

We did this until Omaha was called at 6:05

1MOM

We waited for the PAX to gather their stuff, meet back by the Shovel Flags and did a round of American Hammers-Rancid Style.

COT

We welcomed 2 FNGS…Fancy and Buffet.

This is when my fear of public speaking got the best of me.  I tried to explain why I was there and what motivated me to return most every day.

I am very thankful to be part of F3. Thanks for EH’ing me Ice T.  The getting in shape part is awesome, but it’s also the comradery and praying together that is a big part of what keeps me returning to the Gloom.

What I wanted to say, but didn’t, is that I do this for my family.  I want to be around for my daughter as long as possible.  My previous lifestyle probably wasn’t going to let that happen.   So my message was going to be: Don’t just live with someone, live FOR someone.

Aye, Edison
