14 Pax: Jack Rabbit, Dirty Bird, Stella!, Safe Ride, Tin Cup, Tenderfoot, Space Bar, Squidward, Golden Pike, Huffy, FNG (Hat Trick (Respect!), Rosetta, Q-Tip, and Folsom.

Q: Folsom

The PAX gathered on the side of the track. Folsom greeted the PAX with a hardy good morning, the FNG was welcomed, and Folsom told them the 5 core principles. The mission statement was made, the disclaimer was made, the motto was stated (Leave no man behind but leave no man where you found him.), and then Folsom lead the PAX for a mosey out of the stadium and down into the back parking lot.

Warm O’ Rama (7 minutes)

  • Big Ones ICx12
  • Tappy Taps ICx10
  • Imperial Walkers ICx20
  • Sobriety Style Sun Gods, ICx10, forward and backward
  • ATM’s ICx10, ICx10 and on Down x10

The Pre-Thang: Running up the hill (15 minutes)

Folsom felt the group was small enough that we could all do this at once without getting too separated. The men were told to run the block to the top of the hill, do Monkey Humpers ICx15, run down the hill, do Merkins x15. The PAX were told to repeat but decrease each value by 5. In total 3 trips up that hill were made. That’s 2 too many in Folsom’s book. The PAX then held various plank positions while waiting for the six. Iowa fans got the bonus of 5 merkins while waiting.

The Thang: Traveling down the football field (10 minutes)

Once everyone had reached the endzone from the pre-thang location, Folsom granted the previously heard mumblechatter and let the PAX enjoy the Astroturf. The PAX moved across the field in 20 yard increments. First, Bear Crawl and Flutter Kicks ICx20. Then lunge walk and Heel Touches ICx20. Then Sprint and Carolina Dry Docks x20. Then Crawl Bear and Ranger Merkins x20. Finally, Burpee Broad Jumps to the end zone. Folsom had the PAX race the 100 yards back to the start, walk 50 yards, sprint 50 yards, mosey 50 yards, sprint 50 yards and then circle up at the 50 for Mary.

6 MOM:

Frozen Freddy’s ICx20

Sarpy Slammers ICx20

Hold legs at a 45 degree angle until everyone had run around the circle and pushed the legs down. Move your legs back up after you get pushed. Run around the circle as soon as the last guy passes you.

Announcements/Prayers:  2 Club Conundrum this weekend!

COT: Folsom shared a story about how yesterday was the last day of the year his private pool was open and how his kids sat there and pouted that they were taken to the pool. It’s easy to take things for granted. Folsom didn’t have anywhere as good as his kids, but even he needs a reminder now and then to be grateful for what he has. Every morning, Folsom starts the day off by putting his feet on the ground and saying thanks for waking up that day and for the ability to get outside and grind with his brothers in the gloom. Folsom urged the PAX to be present and intentional as they went about their day and instead of thinking about what they wanted, to think about what they already had and be grateful for it.
