Q: Fine Print
Welcome: There were a few different pre-run groups. YHC setup and the PAX began to arrive. At 5:30 the core principles, and disclaimer were given. I forgot the Mission but it was really a test to see if anyone noticed… That is my story and I’m sticking to it. No FNGs in attendance this morning.
Warmup: We moseyed around the block and to the basketball court for Warm-o-rama consisting of the following exercises:
- SSH 20 IC
- Sun Gods 10 IC forwards and backwards
- Tappy Taps 15 IC
- Big Ones 10 IC
Pre-Thang: Free Throws. I stole this one from Hard Hat’s Q yesterday at Top Rope. The PAX split into two groups and each PAX shot a free throw. On misses we did 5 burpees, on makes we did 5 Bobby Hurleys. The 1’s shot a free-throw percentage of 50%, better than Shaq – no big deal…
Thang: We then spilt into 3 groups for a 3-man grinder.
- Station 1: Push Group: Group 1 ran around the block again and pushed Group 2.
- Station 2: Group 2 focused on upper body and ab-work with the following exercises before pushing Group 3:
- 20 Merkins
- 15 Frozen Freddies IC
- 20 Plank Jacks
- 15 Box Cutters IC
- 20 Carolina Drydocks
- 15 Rosalitas IC
- 20 Mountain Climbers IC
- 15 Flutter Kicks IC
- 20 Alternating Shoulder Taps IC
- Station 3: Group 3 focused on lower body and more ab-work with the following exercises:
- 20 Air Squats
- 15 Big Boy Situps
- 20 Bobby Hurleys
- 15 Flutter Kicks IC
- 20 Bonnie Blairs
- 15 Heels To Heaven IC
- 20 Monkey Humpers IC
The PAX made it through the stations twice before Omaha was called at 6:05AM.
6MOM: Since we did quite a bit of Mary during the Beatdown we did one round of rancid hammers and called it.
Announcements: On Saturday, Oracle moves back to BoysTown and Lincoln Logs has his VQ at Dragon’s Lair. Reminder about Iron Pax.
Prayer Requests: Pit Stop’s Wife, Lindsey; Relish has another child on the way; Fine Print’s son Hendrix has RSV.
Circle of Trust: YHC forgot to incorporate the theme from my pre-blast into the COT. Being that it was Macaulay Kulkin’s birthday, I had planned on incorporating some Home Alone quotes in connection with my theme of Solitude. I recalled for the PAX Cheap Seat’s COT message from the week prior about spending some time in silence and calm. This message resonated with me (cheers Cheap Seats!) so I wanted to expanded upon it. I shared with the group about my vacation to Mexico ending early due to a positive covid test and that I had to quarantine for 10 days alone in Mexico. Rather than getting upset or angry, I realized I had some time alone (for the first time in ages) to rest and recharge. I spent the time thinking about what is truly important and how I could shape my family’s future. I encouraged the PAX to remember to make time for themselves and to enjoy some solitude from time to time. We all have many things pulling us in many different directions. To be the best men, husbands, sons, fathers and leaders we can be, it is important for us to take some occasional time for ourselves away from others, away from distractions to spend some time in thought and to reflect on what is truly important and set some goals for ourselves and our families.
