Selleck welcomed the PAX to the YARD dispelled mission, core principles and disclaimer; with no FNGs Selleck reminded the veterans to modify as needed and perhaps falsely advertised a PG-13 beatdown.

The PAX moseyed from the playground to the obelisk waved at it 3 times as they circled the mighty mast and headed back to the playground for warm-a-rama.

Now warm, Selleck directed the PAX to shut their cake-hole and place blocks on the north sidewalk of the YARD bowl. The block will stay on the northside while the PAX traverse from north path to south path. Exercises will called out by Qic upon arrival to each walking path. For reasons only known to Selleck he’s deemed any routine when you traverse the land to-and-fro (as an entire PAX) as AOH.

22 PAX were not assigned partners, but freed to self-select. Selleck rambled off directions about the parade, but trusted the PAX to more-or-less would “get it.” Parade involved the walking path of the YARD.

  • Selleck talked about resiliency and how it seems to be an overarching theme at work and home lately and how he may have misrepresented/mislived(sp?) its meaning in days of yesteryear. Now more-than-ever this wise PAX must ooze our TRUE resilience as leaders in the community:
    • Definition: The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.
    • Meaning: The ability to bounce back, be flexible, adapt, withstand adversity from difficult life events.
    • Being resilient does not mean that people don’t experience stress, emotional upheaval, and suffering. Resilient people tap into their strengths and support systems to overcome challenges and work through problems. (everydayhealth.com)
    • Contrary to Selleck’s comfort level, resiliency does not arrive by pushing through, rallying resources, or “just making it happen.” It’s not a fixed trait….when we are safe and feel connected to others our resiliency increases. It’s time to listen and stop being a mouthpiece for others. Listen, surrender, sense when to push and offer when to pull.
