 “The Walls of Jericho”

4 Pax: Swiper,  Ear Tag, KOA, Shrute

QIC:  Swiper

5:00am           Pre – Pre-Run– Swiper OYOBNA

5:30am Swiper welcomed the Pax to F3 – reminding them of the mission to Plant, Serve and Grow small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.   He also mentioned that they were an International Organization now.

Swiper then covered the 5 core principles of F3.  1) Open to ALL men. 2.  Always Free.  3) Always held outdoors, 4) Lead in a rotating fashion and 5) Ends with a Circle of Trust (COT).

There were no FNGs today.

Swiper reminded the PAX that I am not a professional.  Modify as necessary.  From this point forward there is a real risk of injury.

Swiper instructed the HIMs we would perform the Walls of Jericho and would run to the middle school.

5:38 am Warm-a-rama

–         Swiper explained we would try for the second time to conquer the “Walls of Jericho.”  (Failed to finish 7 laps around on my First Q at Sandlot on May 27, 2021).  We would modify for time by only doing 1 exercise of 7 reps on round 1, then circle the building, 2 exercises of 7 reps on round 2, and circle the building, etc.

–         During the final lap, Swiper remind the Pax, how Joshua and Isralites were afraid the high walls of Jericho, and the giants that lived in Canaan, but eventually they trusted in God and followed his plan.  He asked the Pax to think about areas of their lives, where they are nervous, anxious, and to let go and “Give those things to God.” Then we all let out a big scream, and we ran back on Lincoln Dr., to the shovel flags.

COT

–         Swiper mentioned that he has been trying to get around to other AOs in Omaha and he mentioned that the Sarpy Swagger HIMs should try and do the same.   He commented that it must be working as only 4 Pax showed up today!  He also mentioned he wanted to do, “who is the six?” but we didn’t have enough Pax!

–         For the COT Swiper read Matthew 7:22-27 “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body.  When your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness.  And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!  No one can serve two masters.  For you will hate one and love the other; or you will be devoted to one and despise the other.  You can not serve God and be enslaved to Money.  That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear.  Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?  Look at the birds. They don’t harvest or store food in the barns, for your Heavenly Father feeds them.  And aren’t you more valuable to him than they are?  Can all of your worries add a single moment to your life?”

–         Then he asked the Pax again, what are you worrying about, what gives you anxiety?  Work today to Let Go and trust God’s plan….He also asked the Pax to think about what you are putting in your body.

–         Swiper led the group out in prayer, he thanked God / Jesus / Sky Q for the opportunity to lead today….And the opportunity to lead a smaller group and get to know each other better.  He prayed for each Pax and especially Knobs and his family.   He also asked for protection for all the families traveling this summer and that they could enjoy their vacations!

–         Swiper and KOA, Schrute and Ear Tag had coffee at the Beanery in the DQ parking lot…..We were joined half way through by Knobs….some great 2nd F!

Aye!  Swiper
