Pre-Runners: Biff, Chucky, Panty Hose, Sparty
The PAX rolled in this morning with good energy and great attitudes. YHC was excited to be back on the Q as I wasn’t initially on the schedule for the day, but acknowledged that our man Folsom wanted to be at the launch of the Brick Yard for his good friend, Huffy. The HIM were greeted right at 5:15am with the traditional F3 welcome. We then took a short mosey around the parking lot and stopped by a tree at the NE corner of the school for Warm-a-rama.
Warm-a-rama: 5 SSH IC – and then we were done.
YHC then took the PAX to the east side of the school to get some quick work in. We partnered up and did a quick Pre-Pre-Thang:
- Partner 1 – Bernie Sanders up the steep hill
- Partner 2 – Chicken Peckers up against the school building until partner returned
- AMRAP for 5 minutes
YHC called “Omaha” to stop the complaining about the steepness of the hill. We then took a nice little mosey back to the track for the Pre-Thang:
- Burpee-Mile: Partner work out, Partner 1 would run a lap around the track (400M) while Partner 2 did Burpees AMRAP style. Upon partner 1’s return, the two switched. Each PAX member ran a total of 800M which equaled a mile.
The HIM did a great job of either holding a plank for the 6, or running back to pick up the 6 (shout out to Cataracts for leading the charge and Chucky for joining him). YHC then asked the PAX to circle up again quickly to count off into groups of 3 and for instructions for the Thang:
- 3-man Grinder: Partner 1 Hand-Release Merkins (AMRAP) until relieved, Partner 2 Burpees (AMRAP) until relieved, Partner 3 (push) did 2 Thrusters with their block and then rifle carried the block (overhead) across the field.
At 5:52am, YHC call “Omaha.” The men then slowly made their way back to the shovel flags for 6MoM:
- Big Boy Sit ups: 15 – Chucky acknowledged that Sparty moves at a quick pace
- Gas Pumpers: 15 IC
- American Hammers: 15 IC
Name-o-rama: Big Money was all out of sorts with his name, otherwise very solid work by the men.
Announcements: 3-year Anniversary Convergence next Saturday at 6am at The Pit (Halleck Park).
Prayers: In the hearts of our men.
COT: This all lined up pretty well for me. Our Q Source topic today is Contentment, this is often times confused with complacency, but this is really intended for men to have control over their emotions. In the Q Point, they give a great example of this with the story of a pilot as they fly through rough air. When they come on the speaker, they are not panicked and worries, rather they sound very calm and collected which helps the passengers be at ease. As I re-read this on Wednesday night, I jumped on a plane on Thursday and flew through a thunderstorm and paid attention to the pilots cadence a little closer this time. The Q Point goes on to talk about how important it is for passengers to get on a flight with pilots that have flown through turbulence before to feel confident in their abilities to navigate safely through the conditions. This applies to us as well. We need to immerse ourselves into chaos and adverse situations so that we are trained and conditioned to handle difficult situations, and to handle them with content on our emotions. As leaders, we need to handle adversity well and give others confidence in following us even through the obstacles in our life. I encourage each of you to seek out adverse opportunities and get uncomfortable to help train yourself as a leader.
Prayer: YHC took the PAX out in prayer.
