February 19, 2021 | AO: The Combine | Kiewit Middle School | Temp 12 Degrees
PAX: Biff, Skipper, Cataracts, Sparty, Hard Hat, PantyHouse, The Curse, Nailed It, Thor, Doppler, FDIC
At 5:30 am sharp, FDIC welcomed the PAX to the hardest working AO on this no wind and slightly warmer temperature than it has been morning, gave the F3 mission statement, assuming they knew the 5 core principles, and reminded them that YHC was not a professional, and to modify, as needed. I said that the pre-blast including coupons might have scared some of the PAX away, but that I enjoyed having a smaller group and we would march on. Thor stated that he specifically came BECAUSE there were coupons. Thor is a badass.
We jumped right into the warm o rama. YHC stated it would be a quick one before we got down to the pre-thang…and it was…
5 SSH x IC
FDIC barked at the PAX to find a partner, and we’d jump into the Pre-Thang.
Lazy Dora – Partner Up
– 100 Diamond Merkins (10)/ Plank
– 200 LBC’s (20)/ & in Leg Hold
– 300 Monkey Humpers (25) / Al Gore
The PAX encouraged the 6, holding an Al-Gore. And then YHC motioned towards the coupons sitting in a row, over in the next section of the parking lot and said that we would be using them for the Main Thang. One PAX asked if it was going to be THE beatdown that I did at Golden Spike the previous year, with multiple days of mumblechatter afterwards, to which YHC smiled and said ‘Yep!, I figured it if was worth complaining about, it would be worth repeating’

American Hammers – Rancid Style.
I heard a message this past week which was about ‘The decisions you make impact more than just you, even if you think they have no impact on others’. Picture yourself standing on the shore of a lake, and not to far away is a man fishing. If you take a boulder and throw it into the lake, and turn away quickly after it hits the water, you may see the immediate result of your decision (the splash), but you will then fail to see (or ignore) the ripples from that splash which will end up scaring the fish away from the man fishing, and now he’s hungry with no food.
Same way are the decisions we make on a daily basis. YHC gave an example of how he had been addicted to pornography since I was 11, and for several years into my marriage, which I tried to justify that it was only impacting myself, but knew it really had an impact on how I viewed women, but most importantly my wife, and how I had a twisted view of what love and intimacy was supposed to look like instead of how God intended me to love and view my wife.
Jesus broke those chains of addiction, but that doesn’t mean that the temptation is gone, once awhile it creeps back, knocking on my door, and I expressed how the previous day was very mentally tiring because there were multiple times I had to deal with the temptation and make the decision to turn to Jesus, and not give in, as I knew if I did make the decision to give in, that it would have a greater impact on just myself.
As a Dad of three girls, I do not want my daughters to be seen as objects, and as a man, I want to speak into other men (and even future husbands of my daughters) that we don’t have to look at women as objects, that we have the ability to choose, and those choices will make an impact, either positively or negatively on not only ourselves, but others around us, whether we think they do nor not, and also we may not see that impact right away, but 1, 5, 10 years down the road.
