Wild Kingdom – Coldest Workout Day of the Year

-25 degrees and frigid cold – Good news is wind was only blowing at 3 mph

QIC — Cheap Seats

Cheap Seats welcomed 11 HIM to the Wild Kingdom on the coldest day of the year (-25 weather).  Gave the mission statement, disclaimer and Credo.

The PAX performed a mosey through the long drive and ended in a small parking lot and circled up for Warm-A-Rama

A round of calisthenics was performed in the parking lot.  Skips, followed by high knees and then Karaoke both ways.  

Pre-Thang:  The PAX then moseyed from the small parking lot for a quarter mile and ended up at the picnic table area by the restroom.  We performed 2 sets of workouts, each with 3 exercises; 1. 20 Derkins, 20 dips and 15 step ups.  We then completed set 2 of the same thing.  The PAX then went and grabbed a restroom wall and did 15 donkey kicks.

Thang: The PAX then moseyed to the middle of the circle drive and split into two groups.  One group of 5 and the other of 6.

Cheap Seats explained the Thang.  There were 2 pain stations located about ¼ mile apart.  One by the flags and one on the opposite side.  The goal was to complete the list of 5 exercises on the front page then mosey to the opposite location for the next group of exercises. I called it operation stay warm!  The pain station by the flags was an ARM workout and the opposite pain station was a leg workout.

  • Alternating lunges
  • Johnny Dramas
  • 10 burpees
  • 20 high knees 
  • 20 Bonnie Blairs

We successfully completed the front and back page of the workout with probably a little over a mile mosey in between each stop.

Moon Man led us with 20 LBC IC

Finished with American Hammers Rancid style.  Each PAX member completed 2 before passing it on and we completed 22 Hammers.

Announcements/COT

Wait Time discussed RESPECT pop up workout next Wednesday at Paradise.  We mentioned Queen Service and the people involved in that. We also talked about the half marathon at the end of this month (Feb 28th)

I explained to the group the importance of my involvement the past 6 months in F3.  I explained how every time I work out it starts my day and mood off in the right mindset.  I have better days when I work out than when I don’t.  Explained that our mood as HIM, fathers and husbands really affect our M’s and 2.0s.  If we bring a great mood or energy our M’s and 2.0s will follow suit.  Conversely if we are negative it can have negative impacts on them.  Bring a great mood to everything you do and I firmly believe starting the day with F3 has done that for me.
