“Reverse Chain Runs”

KOA welcomed the Pax to F3 – reminding them of the mission to Plant, Serve and Grow small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.   No FNGs today!  

KOA went on to cover the 5 core principles of F3.  

1) Open to ALL men. 

2)  Always Free.  

3) Always held outdoors

4) Lead in a rotating fashion 

5) Ends with a Circle of Trust (COT).  

KOA shared the “Reverse Indian Run on the middle school track” with the pax.  We were running by 5:31am.

5:31-6:10am ​

The team moseyed through the park over to the middle school track. We fell into 2 parallel lines. When KOA said go, he and Ferdinand started to sprint around the track in order to catch up with the back of the line. After 600 meters, KOA decided that his idea was not well thought out and cut through the infield. When they joined back up with the group at the back of the line, the rest of the PAX had already smoothed out an alternative route running clockwise opposite the rest of the group. Firewalker commented, “This is Stupid”. A little later he also commented, “KOA, did I tell you how dumb this was?” It was clear Firewalker was in rare form this morning but enjoying himself and the conversation but was getting dizzy. We continued with this reverse clearly Run for 37 minutes before returning to the flags at the Sandlot. Almost all of the group completed 5 miles during the 40 minute mosey.

​We then went into Name-o-rama. The following member were present for a total of 13 PAX members: Ferdinand, Squeaky, Roadie, Baby Shark, Crawl, 8-mile, Trench, Zorro, Knobs, Schnapps, Boiling Point, Firewalker, KOA

Announcements/Prayer Requests:  – PAX asked to remember the 12 ½ marathons over the next 12 months. Next one will be January 31st. All will be out an back routes, therefore  no car-pooling.

​Today we spoke about procrastination and how it can paralyze your day to day life. We all have lists of things we need to get done, but many times we perseverate on the one thing we don’t want to do each day, and it prevents us from getting other things done in the process. There is a book called, Eat that Frog, which provides a thought exercise on what would happen if your job was to eat a frog each day. The book explains that if you just wake up and eat the frog first thing in the morning, you won’thave to think about it all day, thus freeing your ability to do all the other things you want or need to do. Applied to our own lives, if we get up and just do the thing we are dreading all day, first and foremost, it prevents procrastination and allows us to lead productive lives for the remainder of the day. 

We ended with a prayer to Sky Q.
