2 – Pre Thang
The PAX gathered at the third baseline of the baseball field. The PAX ran to right field and did one set of the exercise below before running back to the third baseline. This sequence continued until the exercise was completed.
Much like Captain Thor, this routine follows a 1:4 ratio. Exercises are Merkins and plank Jacks. Routine: 1 Merkin. 4 plank Jacks. 2 Merkins. 8 plank jacks. Up to 5/20 and back down the mountain.
3– The Thang
The PAX took shelter from the high winds on the southside of the school. The PAX then partnered up and worked their way through the exercise routine below.
Similar to Dora 1-2-3 but more exercises. Partner up. Pax 1 does exercise while Pax 2 ran a loop around the circle drop off. Swap out and continue the exercise until each amount of reps are complete. The exercises and reps are: 50- Burpees / 100- Overhead Claps / 150- Merkins / 200- Big Boy Sit-ups / 250- Squats.
• American Hammers-29 IC
o January 15, the day of the beatdown was also MLK’s birthday. The PAX performed 29 American Hammers in honor of MLK’s year of birth and 68 LBCs in honor of his year of death.
Circle of Trust:
• No announcements. It was too cold for announcements. Beards and eyelashes were caked with ice.
• Likewise, it was too cold for prayer intentions so everyone held those prayers intentions in the silence of their hearts.
• Thoughts by the Q
• YHC told the PAX that one purpose of mystery Q day was to not Q shop and get out of your comfort zone to attend other AOs. Getting out of your comfort zone is not only good for attending F3 workouts but a principle you should translate to your personal and professional life in general.
• YHC also referenced the PAX to Martin Luther King’s Birmingham Jail Letter that discussed nonviolent protest. The wisdom in this letter is still relevant today.
