The Matrix Backblast – 12/23/20 – The Two Act Beatdown

December 23, 2020 | AO: The Matrix | Virtual | Temp. 47 degrees and 18 mph wind

PAX: Skipper, The Curse, Sgt. Slaughter, Maverick (F3 Iowa), Slick, FDIC

Q: FDIC

It was a not too cold, and not too warm day, with a winter storm advisory, and howling winds, but none of that mattered because the PAX were gearing up for the beatdown inside their own familiar confines.  At 5:30 sharp, FDIC rally’d the PAX and welcomed them with the standard greeting, the F3 mission statement, assuming they knew the 5 core principles, and very importantly reminded them that YHC was not a professional, and to modify, because coupons can cause injuries.

FDIC fiddled with the zoom controls and shared the beatdown.

COT: My favorite movie is The Matrix (…only the first one, the others are trash…fight me). The plot is that people think they are really alive in this life/world, but in reality they are plugged into a machine and live, unknowingly, in a virtual/fake world, and there is a group of people whom have discovered this, live in reality and try to beat the machine, and save humanity from this lie that humanity thinks is the truth.

There is a scene in the movie where Neo goes to see the Oracle, and in the living room there is a child bending spoons and explains “Do not try and bend the spoon, that’s impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth…there is no spoon. Then you’ll see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.”

One of my favorite verses in the Bible is John 8:32 “Then you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free”.  Tying these two together, we often see certain things in a different way, a certain perspective because we have a lens that we are looking through.  This lens can be shaped through many things, past, trauma, events, beliefs, lies we think are the truth. Just because we tend to see, perceive, or believe something a certain way, because we are looking through our own lens, it may be a distorted view of reality, of the truth.  Take a moment to see if there are any distorted lenses that you may be wearing, and realize that it’s not the truth.  Change your lens, change your perspective.

The PAX then wished The Curse a bon voyage on his trip to Cancun (tough life bro…) and ventured a few steps to grab a nice cup of joe for coffeteria.

Aye!
