As PAX began to arrive for the beatdown, we looked around the circle hoping nobody knew the surprise they were about to endure. The air started brewing with mumblechatter as the clock ticked closer to 515am. “BOO!” The faces on the PAX looked like kids in a candy shop. Two Step and others “knew it”, but did they really?? This is a question we are still searching for. What could have led them to believe we were the beatdown co-captains?
The PAX was promptly welcomed at 515am with the F3 mission statement, core principles and the disclaimer. No FNG’s were present at this point in time.
PAX moseyed to warm-o-rama
SSH 20 IC
Tappy Taps 12 IC
Cherry Pickers 12 IC
Sun Gods 15 IC
Shoulder Taps 15 IC
The PAX moseyed the traditional route around the AO for a beatdown stopping along the route for various exercises.
Stop 1: Sumo Squats 15 IC, Monkey Humpers 25 IC, Sumo Squats 15 IC
Stop 2: Gaspumpers 15 IC, American Hammers (around the circle) IC, Gaspumpers 15 IC
Stop 3: Derkins 20, Dips 20, Derkins 20
During the mosey after stop #1, No Doze gave great feedback and mentioned that we shouldn’t tell the PAX how many reps will be done – this would allow the PAX to cruise during the reps. So what did we do?…we took his comment literally during stop #4 and did Al Gores for “an unspecified amount of time.”
Stop 4: Al Gore 1 min (x2)
With all that is going on in our community and with our PAX, let’s remember to be minimize contact with others and keeping our physical distancing during workouts.
During ghost week, we do not know who the Q will be, so we essentially have to trust our gut. Some of us like more cardio workouts, some more lifting, and some a combination. The same goes with life.
“The guy who takes a chance, who walks the line between the known and unknown, who is unafraid of failure, will succeed.” – Jordan Parks
No matter where we are in life, we all have our own unique unknowns. Never will we have all the answers. The only way to live is to embrace that unknown and live like there is no tomorrow. Who knows when our last chance will be.
