17 PAX:  Grease Fire, Depth Charge, E85, Toadstool, Rooster, Toto, Peer Pressure, Two Step, Piano Man, Lion Tamer, TC (respect), Nuget, Radar, Cyclone (respect), Spreadsheet, Hipster (Respect), Stella.  

5:30 AM  – Welcome Pax, Mission statement, 5 core principles reviewed, disclaimer given.

PAX started Warm-A-Rama with a mosey around the circle parking lot.  We then met around the flag pole and circled up. We did the following exercises:

  • SSH
  • Windmills
  • Tappy taps
  • Imperial Walkers
  • Sun Gods
  • Butt Kickers

Pre-Thang:  We then did a short mosey to the base the of the stairs.  We did 20 IC step ups, bear crawled up the hill for 20 IC monkey humpers.  We did this twice. 

The Thang:  Today was a classic 2-man grinder.  Each group did the total number as a group, before moving to the next exercise.  The workout area was appx 75 yards down the east sidewalk path.  The end point was the base of the stairs.  At the stairs, we did 1 burpee before returning to relieve the partner. Running was of course up a decent hill.  TwoStep was heard saying that the hill got steeper each time…   The following were the exercises:

  • 50 – Hand Release Merkins
  • 50 – Burpees
  • 50 –  Makhtar N’Diaye
  • 100 – Carolina Dry Docks
  • 100 IC – Alt Shoulder Taps
  • 100 – Crabwalk Touches (each foot = 1)
  • 200 – Bobbie Hurley’s 
  • 200 – Air Squats
  • 200 – LBCs (not IC)

Omaha: Called at 6:09 AM.  Some groups made it to Air Squats before Omaha and one may have gotten to LBCs.  Lots of mumblechatter during the burpees and towards the end of the grinder.  YHC crafted a playlist of songs he’s recent heard on SiriusXM PopRocks radio, but may not actually like.  Cyclone commented it was the worst music he’s ever heard.  If you would like a link to my Spotify playlist, holla.  The workout music included:  All Star by Smash Mouth, We Like to Party by Vengaboys, Only Wanna Be with You by Hootie, I’m a Believer by Smash Mouth, Celebrate Good Times by Funktown America and several others.  The terrible music was meant to remind us were are at F3 to work out, not jam out… No MARY!!!   

COT:  We met back at the shovel flag to count off and Namarama.  No FNG’s present.  Announcements: We can still collect canned food for the Vala’s 2nd F Food Drive; Khahki’s Challenge.  Prayer requests mentioned and noted.  YHC had short COT with quote from Epictetus, Discourses, 2.16.13: “We cry to God Almighty, how can we escape this agony?  Fool, don’t you have hands? Or could it be God forgot to give you a pair?   Sit and pray that your nose doesn’t run! Or, rather just wipe you nose and stop seeking a scapegoat.”  We have a choice:  Do we focus on everything wrong, sit back, complain and do nothing …or rather do act on what is in our control and get to work?  PAX encouraged to focus on always moving forward and striving to be our best. Make it happen, even if it’s a small step..  Ended with closing prayer.
