Cornhusker Handicap Backblast – 5/26/20

8 PAX, following social distancing best practices, gathered in the swamp that is Stinson Park. YHC reminded everyone that F3 stands for Fitness, Fellowship & Faith, and that we are here to plant, serve, and grow small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership. By no means is Lucky Charms an expert, so please modify as needed. Lastly, YHC reminded everyone that F3 always free, held outdoors, open to all men, lead in a rotating basis and end in a COT.

PAX performed a mosey around the park and met at the bottom of the hill near the stage. 


  • Goofballs x 20 IC
  • Copperhead Squats x 10 IC
  • Sun Gods x 15 IC forward and backward
  • Tappy Taps x 12 IC
  • Tempo Merkins x 10 IC


PAX started on the sidewalk at the base of the hill. Everyone would sprint up the hill, bear crawl down the hill (thanks for that reminder, Bubbles) and do 5 burpees back on the sidewalk. That was one round. PAX compiled 3 OYO and performed air squats until the 6 was in. 


With a COT about embracing and not wasting your inner madness, today’s workout was simple, repetitive, but a grind. 

Round 1: PAX did 20 walking lunges (10 each leg) on the sidewalk, circled back up and completed the follow exercises. 

  • Carolina Dry Docks X 15 on down
  • Flutter Kicks x 15 IC
  • Jump squat x 15 on down
  • Merkins x 15 on down

Round 2: PAX did crawl bears for 20 seconds around the sidewalk, circled back up and completed the following exercises. 

  • Carolina Dry Docks X 15 on down
  • LBCs x 15 IC
  • Jump tucks x 15 on up
  • Merkins x 15 on down

We rinsed and repeated from around 5:42 until 6:07. Despite the simplicity, YHC lost count of how many times through we made it. It was enough to make my arms and legs hurt. Not a ton of mumble chatter, except our backs in puddles during LBCs helped keep count through hilarious fart noises, which lead to an unscripted core exercise as we did LBCs while laughing.

  • Hammers 10 IC on, 10 count off for 5 rounds (added a bonus one for Khakis (respect))

    • You’re all clearly a little insane for showing up here. But my guess is we all have something that makes us unique. Makes us good at our jobs. Something that compliments the people around us. As a group open to all men, I think it’s important we celebrate that uniqueness in ourselves and others. Let’s be a little mad. Celebrate it and use it to make the people around us a little better.
