YHC welcomed the gathered PAX and thanked them for braving the cold to join me in celebrating my 42nd birthday. I informed them all that this would be a Bruiser friendly workout due to my still dodgy knee. The disclaimer was offered up and we circled up right at the shovel flag for Warm-O-Rama.

YHC introduced The Thang: cut the cake
The workout was built in the circle in front of the monument with the flagpole at it’s center. Pairing up, the PAX was tasked to work their way around as many times as possible. Honoring the Site Q tradition, there was no Mary, but YHC did hear from some PAX that their abs felt the effects of the Thang.
YHC and Kahakis made 2 3/4 rotations before Omaha was called and the PAX gathered back at the Shovel Flag for closing festivities.

YHC hunted for a quote that spoke to him about aging well, and for the from Douglas McArthur:
“In the central place of every heart there is a recording chamber. So long as it receives a message of beauty, hope, cheer, and courage – so long are you young. When the wires are all down and our heart is covered with the snow of pessimism and the ice of cynicism, then, and only then, are you grown old.”
It encouraged me to seek joy and positivity and see the good things. So, in turn ,YHC encouraged the PAX to not give in to cynicism and negativity, but stay young and full of joy!
YHC finds joy in many place, but this day was particularly thankful for the joy of the Gloom and positivity of the surrounding PAX. I love you men, and I’m SO thankful to have you in my life! Thanks for being with me to celebrate another trip around the sun.
