With no shovel flags, YHC welcomed 8 PAX to The Pit and met by a headlamp. Out of Fitness, Fellowship & Faith, we were going to focus on the fitness portion today. Reminded PAX that he is not a professional and to modify exercises as needed. Reminded PAX of the 5 core principles, and noticed there were no FNGs. 

PAX performed a mosey across the bridge to goose poop island for the warm-a-rama. 


  • SSH – 20 IC
  • Tappy taps – 10 IC
  • Sun Gods – 10 IC each direction
  • Alternating Shoulder Taps – 15
  • Downward dog/Howl stretches – 5 of each

Pre Thang

PAX moseyed to an open area between two baseball fields to honor some regular exercises and some of our fellow PAX’s favorites. 

Round 1:

  • Ponzi Pinchers x 20 IC
  • Tater Taps 10 IC
  • Goofballs x 20 IC
  • Merkins x 15
  • Jump Tucks x 10
  • Merkins x 15
  • Hydrolic Squats x 12
  • Low Dollies x 30 IC
  • Donkey Kick Offs 5 kicks, hold 5th on wall for 5 seconds. 10 kicks, hold 10th for 10 seconds, 15 kicks and hold 15th for 15 seconds

Round 2:

  • Ponzi Pinchers x 20 IC
  • Tater Taps 10 IC
  • Goofballs x 19 IC (goofball # from the man that made it famous, Gunner)
  • Merkins x 30 (brutal count, Gipper)
  • Jump Tucks x 10 
  • Merkins x 20
  • Hydrolic Squats x 21 (not a ton of mumblechatter, but this got YHC’s legs burning)
  • Low Dollies x 30 IC
  • Donkey Kick Offs 5 kicks, hold 5th on wall for 5 seconds. 10 kicks, hold 10th for 10 seconds

Moseyed to the soccer fields on the north side of the park for the thang. 

The Thang:

The PAX split into two groups, one on each side of the soccer goal. A trashcan and coupon was put about 15 yards away in the center of the field. The exercise consisted of one person throwing a football and trying to make it in the trashcan. If they missed, the rest of the group performed an exercise while the thrower shagged the ball. This went on until they either made it or missed 5 times. On a make or after 5 attempts, the PAX switched to the second exercise. The team that won got to watch the losing team do 5 burpees. We had enough time to get through two full rounds of:

  • Hiyaski Squats
  • Merkins
  • Big Boys
  • American Hammers
  • Bunny Blairs
  • Merkins
  • Sumo squats
  • Burpees

Moseyed back to the shovel flags (or where they would have been if a site Q was in attendance)


  • Big Boys – 15
  • Freddie Mercuries – 20
  • American Hammers – 10 IC and then 10 count around until YHC finished off with a TC-inspired count filled with reminders to smile and random other noises. Total of 50 AH IC were completed


  • Announcements/Prayers
    • Continued prayers for Stella and his new 2.0
    • Prayers for Splinter (cell!) and his family as they go through this time of uncertainty. Sourdough would like to see if Stell and his family could use some of the meals planned for Splinter. Any guidance or help connecting people would be appreciated. 
    • Convergence on Christmas Eve at Oracle (5:30 and 7:00 am)
    • Coffeteria on Monday at Starbucks off 156th and Dodge. 
    • Prayers for those battling with depression, sadness or mental conditions, especially during this time of suicide prevention and awareness. This is a tough and stressful time. Reach out to someone and remember to check in on our family and friends. 
  • COT
    • Lucky Charms reminded people that despite this time of year being stressfull and crazy for a lot of people, that we need to make the time to find and create some joy. Today’s workout throwing a football was an example of that. The reason for the season is Joy. Create it for yourself and others. 
  • Prayer
    • YHC closed out in prayer. 

Thank you to all the PAX for being a source of joy and fun. The fun continued with coffeteria at HyVee in Shadow Lake.
