Woodshed: “Pony’s Uncomfortable Beatdown”

On Friday, December 13th 16 HIM showed up to brave the 22 degree morning. After I fumbled through the five core principles the group headed toward warm-a-rama.

PAX: The Plague, Gunner, Tenderfoot, Chicklets (Respect), Stella, Polaroid, Honey Badger, Samples (Respect), Huffy, Safe Ride, OMT, Lifestyle, Khakis (Respect), Tater Tot, Honk Honk, and Pony Express.

Warm-a-Rama: – Today’s warm-a-rama all exercises were done with 15 reps in cadence. Pony Express called out random PAX to lead the exercises.

Side Straddle Hop (15 IC)

Goofballs (15 IC)

Pickle Pushers (15 IC)

Mountain Climbers (15 IC)

Monkey Humpers (15 IC)

Copperhead Squats (15 IC)

The Thang – The PAX started at the bottom of a hill where they would complete a list of exercises then sprint to the top of the hill and complete a certain number of burpees before returning back downhill to start the next exercise. PAX repeated this process while decreasing the number of burpees in a ladder fashion.

List of exercises at the bottom of the hill:

Merkins (20)

Air Squats (20)

Plank Jacks (20 IC)

Alternating Shoulder Taps (20)

Hydraulic Squats (20)

LBCs (20 IC)

Diamond Merkins (20)

Big Boys (20)

Ponzi Pinchers (20)

Oh Yeahs (20)

COT

After announcements Pony Express led a discussion about being comfortable with being uncomfortable. Pony Express explained that it is human nature to avoid uncomfortable situations, and we typically take the path of least resistance. Instead, the PAXshould embrace periods of discomfort because that is where we will see the most growth both as a group and individually. Pony Express explained that coming to F3 and getting your butts kicked in a workout can be uncomfortable. The life of a believer is uncomfortable, and perhaps being presented new responsibilities professionally outside of your normal duties can be uncomfortable, but by embracing these things they can provide opportunities in our lives that we would have missed out on if we were to shy away. Closed in a prayer over the PAX.

Giddy Up, Pony Express.
